Chatham Chef, Garden Business Help Raise $100K For Cancer Center

Weekend event organized by Women's Association Of Morristown Medical Center.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – It was a Garden State of Mind for many throughout Morris County this past weekend, as the Women’s Association Of Morristown Medical Center raised an incredible amount of money for the Women’s Cancer Center.

The fundraiser, dubbed Garden State of Mind, began on Friday, June 10 with a “Farm to Table Supper” hosted at Fairfield Farm, an historic estate in the Somerset Hills which is now home to Katie and Don Dahler.

Don Dahler is a correspondent for CBS News and is an award-winning journalist and author. More than 250 guests dined at the Dahler’s home with food prepared by New Jersey chefs.

  • Ryan DePersio of Fascino in Montclair and Battello, Nico Kitchen & Bar and The Kitchen Step, all in Jersey City.
  • James Laird of Serenade in Chatham
  • Craig Polignano of The Ryland Inn in Whitehouse
  • Kevin Sippel of Jockey Hollow Bar & Kitchen in Morristown

The following day, on June 11, a “Secret Garden Tour” offered guests an opportunity to visit four of Morris County’s most beautiful properties designed by the area’s top landscape architects, which included:

  • Back to Nature Home & Garden of Oldwick
  • Susan Cohan Gardens LLC of Chatham
  • Country Nursery of Mendham
  • Davies Associates Landscape Architects LLC of Parsippany
  • Larkspur & Thyme of Mendham

“We are proud to support Morristown Medical Center’s ongoing efforts to advance women’s health in the fight against cancer, and equally proud of all of our volunteers who helped make this fundraiser in support of this worthwhile cause a great success,” said Mary Courtemanche,President, Women’s Association of Morristown Medical Center.
