Chatham Man Arrested for Criminal Mischief in Madison
Madison Police arrested a man who allegedly attempted to pull down an American flag mounted to a pole outside the Public Safety Complex.

A Chatham man is facing criminal mischief charges after allegedly attempting to pull down an American flag mounted to a pole outside the Public Safety Complex in Madison, authorities said.
Madison Police patrolman Joseph DiRocco arrested the 26-year-old Chatham resident on April 18 after monitoring the camera system outside the police headquarters, 62 Kings Road in Madison, and observing the suspect allegedly pulling down an American flag from a pole outside the building, according to the Madison Borough Police.
DiRocco responded to the incident and apprehended the suspect a short distance from the police headquarters.

The suspect, who was not identified, was charged with criminal mischief and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
