CHATHAM, NJ — There were 14 Princeton University students recently selected for a program that helps to bolster high-achievers aiming to work in the federal government, Chatham’s Bradley Rindos among them.
Rindos, of the Class of 2023, was one of 10 who was picked for the Scholars in the Nation’s Service Initiative Internship Program for the summer of 2022, the university announced.
The program, in its 15th year, helps to fund “graduate fellowships and undergraduate summer internships within federal government agencies,” with Rindos and other students picked through the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs.

An Eagle Scout and volunteer EMT, Rindos’ studies are focused in mechanical and aerospace engineering, with certificates in robotics and diplomacy.
“This summer, he hopes to work alongside the State and Defense departments to better understand the intricacies of diplomacy and the application of military power in the defense of democracy,” the university wrote.
As part of his Air Force ROTC training, he has studied military history, honed in on leadership development, teaches younger students, is a private pilot and holds a membership in the Air Force Association.
“He hopes to fly fighter jets after graduation and ultimately be the first person on Mars, according to the Princeton University news release. :Afterwards, he envisions a career in education, policy, or defense.”
While a student at Chatham High School, Rindos, a Class of 2019 graduate, was awarded the four-year ROTC Scholarship. In high school, he was class president all four years, a LINKS leader, involved in cross country, winter track, and spring track, took part in the performing arts, did photography and videography for the school's sports teams, taught a National Youth Leadership Training Course, was part of the Chatham Emergency Squad and was involved in the St. Patrick's Parish church retreat teams.

"After graduating Princeton, I hope to fly for the United States Air Force," Rindos told The Daily Princetonian, the university’s student news publication. "While Air Force ROTC has prepared me with the skills to be a leader at an operational level, this summer I hope to hone my skills as a ‘Warrior-Diplomat’ and contextualize global affairs.”
At the university, he is a Whitman College residential advisor, Orange Key tour guide, is involved with the campus’ Aquinas community and founded Princeton Intramural Spikeball.
“I very much look forward to welcoming the newest SINSI graduate scholars to our dynamic community at SPIA,” Amaney Jamal, Dean of the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, said of all the students. “I’m especially proud of the commitment to public service exemplified by these emerging leaders, as well as by the exceptional undergraduates selected for SINSI internships.”
“Once again, we had a spectacular group of candidates, deeply committed to service here and in their home communities,” said SINSI Co-Directors Frederick Barton and Kathryn Lunney.
“Their range of interests and experiences will be of great value to the federal government.”
