Fatal Car Crash in Chatham Township Leaves One Dead
A single-vehicle car accident left one dead over the weekend.

A serious motor vehicle accident left one dead in Chatham Township over the weekend, authorities said.
Chatham Township Police responded to a serious single-vehicle car accident at 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, in the 900 block of River Road. The initial investigation indicated the vehicle, a 2008 Saab 9-3 convertible, failed to negotiate a curve while traveling eastbound on River Road and subsequently struck the curb, leaving the roadway and striking several trees, police reported.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Joseph Masucci, 54, of New Providence, suffered severe injuries in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics, authorities said.

Chatham Township Police Department, Morris County Sheriff’s Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office are continuing to investigate the motor vehicle accident.
