The Chatham High School field hockey team Friday walked away from its home game against Boonton with a 2-0 victory.
Bridget McNally and Megan Palmisano each scored a goal in the first half, with Annie Monson assisting on both.
Boonton's goalie put up a good fight and kept Chatham from scoring in the second half, but its offense couldn't come together to overcome goalie Sarah Shannon and the rest of the Chatham defense.

"They trust me not to let the ball into the goal, and I have to trust them to get back and move the ball," Shannon said.
Chatham moved the ball around the field, taking control from Boonton at several turns and passing the ball up the field at several turns.

Eileen McHugh ran all over the field, assigned by head coach Jeremy Heinze to guard Boonton's best player for the duration of the game. "I think we work well as a unit," McHugh said. "We have faith in each other."
The field hockey team next plays Pequannock High School at home Tuesday at 4 p.m.
