Library of the Chathams Screening 'Sing Street' Thursday

"Sing Street" is one of the best reviewed movies of 2016 with a 97% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes​.

CHATHAM, NEW JERSEY —"Sing Street" is screening at the Library of the Chathams this Thursday at 7 p.m. as part of the library's My Movie Night series.

"Sing Street" is one of the best reviewed movies of 2016 with a 97% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film was in theaters just this past spring.

"We try to get the most recent releases," Deborah Fitzgerald, head of adult services at the Library of the Chathams, told Patch.

Fitzgerald hopes that "Sing Street," a musical, will appeal to teens and college age members of the Library of the Chathams.

"It’s kind of like a 'Commitments' movie, which is one of my favorite movies," Fitzgerald said.

The last movie the Library of the Chathams screen was 'Miles Ahead', Don Cheadle's Miles Davis biopic.

"In the fall, we’re going to start showing foreign films again," Fitzgerald said about upcoming screenings.
