Madison Police Arrest Three Chatham Teens for Drug Possession

The Chatham teenagers were charged with possession of heroin, marijuana, LSD, and drug paraphernalia during motor vehicle stop on Main St.

Three teenagers from Chatham have been arrested by Madison Police for possession of heroin, LSD, and marijuana.

Madison Police Officer Goncalves arrested two 17-year-old Chatham females, whose names are not being released due to their age, on Nov. 14 for drug possession. Officer Goncalves also arrested Kevin Iossa, 19, also of Chatham. The two minors were passengers in Iossa’s car.

The three individuals were apprehended by Madison Police during a motor vehicle stop on Main Street. Officer Goncalves stopped Iossa for allegedly operating his silver BMW with several equipment violations present.

While speaking with Iossa, Officer Goncalves detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Upon further inspection, the Officer found that the two minors were in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, along with other drug paraphernalia.

“As the investigation unfolded, Iossa was later charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of LSD, Possession of less than 50 grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia along with other motor vehicle charges,” Madison Police Lieutenant Joseph Cirella added.

Iossa was committed to the Morris County Correctional Facility, after he was unable to post bail. Bail was initially set by Honorable Gary Troxell at $5,000 with no option to pay 10 percent. The Madison Police Detective Bureau and Morris County Sheriff’s K-9 assisted during this investigation.
