Next Gen Sports is part of the Madison Area YMCA’s growing lineup of teen programming designed to foster connection, confidence, and fun. Friday nights are all about friendly competition and variety—each week brings something new, from basketball and volleyball to futsal, spike ball, and ultimate frisbee.
“We designed Next Gen Sports to give teens a place to connect, compete, and just have fun in a safe, active environment,” said Shaun Hawkins, Director of Sports at the Madison Area YMCA. “Our goal was to create something that feels like their space, and Friday nights are all about energy and teamwork—whether they’re playing basketball, volleyball, or ultimate frisbee, it’s the perfect way to kick off the weekend.”
Beyond the gym, teens can dive into skill-building and social opportunities across multiple program areas, including Aquatics Teen Swim, Fitness Strength Training Club for Teens, and Youth & Family Enrichment’s Teen Scene or Teen Leaders Club. Whether they’re making a splash in the pool, developing strength and coordination in the gym, or exploring new interests with friends, the Y offers safe, inclusive spaces for teens to stay active, engaged, and connected.
Do not wait to register, as classes may fill up quickly. The Y offers a wide range of programs to help children achieve their goals. Visit https://www.madisonareaymca.org/programs-and-schedules/2025 for more information.
Although Late Fall Programs are open to all, an active Madison Area YMCA membership is required to receive the attractive member rate—join the Y today! One of the many benefits of membership is access to our Scholarship program. Cost should never be a barrier to finding the support you need. As a charitable organization, we offer need-based assistance for membership, childcare, camp, and programs, helping individuals and families access the resources and support that matter most to them. Please contact membership@madisonymca.org to join, reactivate your membership, or learn more about our Scholarship program. We cannot wait to see you soon!
