Each year, the event sees over 1,300 runners who help raise funds for first responders and diabetes research and education.

Beneficiaries include the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department, the Diabetes Research Institute, The Barton Center for Diabetes Education and the Chatham Emergency Squad. Since its inception in 2009, the race has raised over $300,000, officials added.
