Santa’s ‘North Pole Express’ Is Coming Back To Chatham

CHATHAM, NJ — Before Santa gets ready for his trip to drop off presents to children around the world, he’s planning to visit Chatham.

At 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Friday, Dec. 24, families can meet up with Santa near Firehouse Plaza as he rides in on the "North Pole Express," says Chatham Borough Fire Chief Jeff Fricke.

That special ride, Fricke told Patch, is a 1963 American LaFrance fire truck.

While families gear up for Santa’s visit, they may like to check out some of the other happenings in Chatham Borough and Township throughout the holiday season, including:

White Lights in Chatham - Chatham business owners plan to light up the community in the downtown, from Route 24 near the Passaic River, stretching two miles to Madison’s border.

Winter Wonderland - A benefit for the Chatham Education Foundation on Dec. 12 in Chatham Borough’s Downtown.
Winter Art Show and Reception - In Chatham Township, hosted by the Art League of the Chathams on Dec. 12.
Night of Music - the Chatham Performing Arts Boosters is hosting a Night of Music on Dec. 15 in the downtown.
Chatham Emergency Squad’s Snow Village - Go check it out at 31 North Passaic Avenue, each weekend in December except for Christmas Day, Dec. 25, on Saturdays from 3 to 6 p.m. and Sundays, noon to 3 p.m.
