Volleyball Victorious over Vernon Township

The volleyball team defeated Vernon Township 2-0 Monday in their first victory of the season.

The team played together to win their first set 25-14. They got to a slow start in the second set, but rallied and came from behind to win 28-26. The team showed a real desire to work together and rally back from being behind, according to head coach Anna Chesnakova.

The field hockey team fell to West Morris Central 1-0 Monday at Haas Field.

On Sunday, the tennis team competed in the Millburn Challenge and defeated Governor Livingston 4-1.

The victors were:

First Singles - Emily Srocynski
Third Singles - Alison Ramsland
First Doubles - Julia Edgar and Ashley Perselay
Second Doubles - Katie Howard-Johnson and Jess Sullivan

Also on Sunday, the Cougars fell to Millburn, one of the best teams in the state, in a 5-0 shut-out.

• JV girls soccer takes on Morristown at lower at 4 p.m.
• Boys soccer travels to Morristown for a 4 p.m. game.

• Tennis team travels to Mountain Lakes High for a 4 p.m. game.
