Watch: Chatham Girl Appears In UN Environmental Superheroes Promo
Rachael Dutta, 7, of Chatham Borough, is in the new segment promoting the "2021 Champions of the Earth" program for the United Nations.
CHATHAM, NJ — A Milton Avenue School second grader is one of two children featured in a segment released by the United Nations Environmental Programme this past Monday.
Rachael Dutta, 7, is one of two children introducing the “Champions of the Earth,” laureates for 2021, by explaining what it means to be a “real superhero.”
Those recognized in the video announcement include representatives of the non-profit group Sea Women of Melanesia, Maria Kolesnikova who was honored for her “Entrepreneurial Vision,” Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka who is the Founder and CEO of Conservation Through Public Health and Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Mottley.

Dutta has been in “short films, commercials, voice overs, episodes and print campaigns,” her parents Kinshuk Dutta and Noirita Bera, previously reported to Patch.

This past Thanksgiving, Rachael Dutta was part of a special telecast, Sesame Street episode, “See Us Coming Together,” that introduced the program’s first Asian-American Muppet, “Ji-Young.”
