Woman Knocked Down by Car in Hickory Square Lot

A woman was knocked to the ground Tuesday evening by a car backing up in the Hickory Square parking lot, Chatham Township police said.

The accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. near Hickory Wine Cellar. The driver realized what happened, stopped and remained at the scene, Sgt. Chris Slayton said. Police said the pedestrian suffered minor injuries to her legs and was checked at a hospital.

Slayton said the accident report was not yet complete. Additional information was not immediately available.
