$100K Raised For Animals At Voorhees Shelter Benefit
The Voorhees Animal Orphanage serves 29 communities in South Jersey, and held its first "Pit Ball Holiday Pawty" on Dec. 2.

VOORHEES, NJ — A fundraiser for the Voorhees Animal Orphanage raised more than $100,000 recently for the shelter's mission helping local animals.
Andrew Kozak, meteorologist for CBS Philadelphia, emceed the inaugural "Pit Ball Holiday Pawty" at The Mansion on Main Street on Dec. 2, the shelter said.
It costs $25 a day to feed and shelter pets, so the money will help the Animal Orphanage take care of the dogs and cats that come into their doors.

"The Voorhees Animal Orphanage is constantly in need of support for finding homes for pets, struggling to subsidize food, or simply maintaining their current space," the shelter said in a news release.
The shelter and adoption center is located at 419 Cooper Road in Voorhees and serves 29 communities in South Jersey, according to the Facebook page for the VAO. Of these, 19 communities are in Camden County. The shelter runs on monthly fees from the municipalities and donations, and opened in 1988.
