Outages Linger In Cherry Hill After Heavy Rain, Strong Winds Pummel Region
2 township parks were closed Wednesday because of downed trees and branches.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Hundreds in Cherry Hill still lacked power lateWednesday afternoon after powerful rainstorms and winds pummelled the region overnight.
As of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, 235 homes and buildings in the township continued to suffer power outages, according to PSE&G. The utility provider estimated restoration by 10:15 p.m.

New Jersey still has nearly 32,000 outages overall — down from the overnight peak of 120,000 — according to NJ Advance Media.
Cherry Hill sustained 2.31 inches of rain from the storm, according to the National Weather Service's preliminary data.

Gusts exceeded 65 mph in Camden County, taking down trees and power lines. Overall, 65 trees came down around the county, with more than half hitting homes, according to the Camden County Office of Emergency Management.
The county's 911 call center took in nearly 1,300 calls for service and assistance at the height of the storm, officials said.
The township said the following:
"The Cherry Hill Township Department of Public Works has been working diligently around town to remove down trees and branches on public streets and public properties. Please be advised if you need to report down trees or wires, contact the Department of Public Works at 856-424-4422 or the Cherry Hill Police Department at 856-665-1200."
Two Cherry Hill parks — Woodcrest Bowling Green and Lions Den — were closed Wednesday because of downed trees and branches. The Cherry Hill Recreation Department said to check back on social media for when the parks reopen.
