'A Bright Light': Cherry Hill Woman, 44, Mourned After Battle With Pancreatic Cancer
A GoFundMe campaign is raising money for her husband and two daughters.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — Laura Peters, a Cherry Hill woman remembered for her kindness and courage in the face of pancreatic cancer, died on Wednesday. She was 44.
Peters was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and grew up in South Florida, where she met her husband, Mark. Laura and Mark then lived in Virginia for several years, where they got married, and then to New Jersey seven years ago.
Four years ago, they moved to Cherry Hill's Woodcrest neighborhood, where they raised two daughters — ages 3 and 8.

Laura died after a "courageous" two-year battle with pancreatic cancer, according to her obituary.
"Above all else, Laura will be remembered as a devoted and nurturing mother, a fiercely loyal friend, and a woman of remarkable strength, kindness, and grace," the obituary says.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to aid Laura's daughters and husband, who is a disabled U.S. Navy veteran.
The GoFundMe has generated more than $18,000 as of this writing.
"She was a bright light—fierce, loving, hilarious, and full of life," the online fundraiser says, "and her absence is felt deeply by everyone who knew and loved her."
