Camden Catholic Football Gets 1st Win of 2013

Winless in its first two games, Camden Catholic's football team wasted no time getting on the board against Moorestown Friday night.

Tyree Rodgers busted loose on a 92-yard kick return to open the game and also caught a pass from Matt Goldner for another score as the Irish edged the Quakers, 18-13.

Moorestown's Anthony Williamson racked up 90 yards and two scores, but it wasn't enough for the Quakers, who had a chance to snatch the victory late, only to have Camden Catholic's Jamal Parker pick off a pass to seal the victory.

Eastern 38, Cherry Hill East 0

The Cougars ran into a brick wall of a defense Friday night, managing just 52 yards on offense against the Vikings, who were coming off a 50-41 win against Timber Creek last week.

Eastern's Tom Flacco, younger brother of Baltimore Ravens and Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco, threw for a touchdown and ran for another.
