Cherry Hill Outdoor Concert Canceled Due To Storms

The cancelation brings this summer's 'Music Under the Stars' concert series to a premature end.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Tuesday evening's outdoor concert in Cherry Hill was canceled because of stormy weather expected throughout the evening.

The show was slated as the third and final installment of this summer's "Music Under the Stars" series at the Barclay Farmstead. But the cancelation brings Cherry Hill's annual outdoor-concert series to a premature end this season.

Stormy weather entered South Jersey on Tuesday afternoon. The National Weather Service placed the entire state under a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Frequent lightning may be possible during that time — along with scattered gusts up to 70 mph and isolated hail up to the size of ping pong balls, according to the National Weather Service.

  • Tuesday afternoon: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Tuesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.
