Cherry Hill Police-Involved Shooting Under State Investigation: AG
The Tuesday afternoon shooting near Chapel Avenue West resulted in the death of a civilian, the state Attorney General's office said.
CHERRY HILL, NJ - A Tuesday afternoon police-involved shooting in Cherry Hill left one civilian dead, resulting in an investigation from the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.
The shooting, which involved Cherry Hill police, occurred at around 2 p.m. near the 3000 block of Chapel Avenue West, the state office said. The identity of the male victim was not immediately released.
Police confirmed around 11 p.m. a man died after he was shot by a Cherry Hill police officer, 6abc reported.

The state Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability opens an investigation anytime a fatal police-involved shooting is reported.
The investigation is ongoing. No further information is being released at this time, the Attorney General’s Office said.

A request for additional information from the Cherry Hill Police Department was not immediately returned.
The announcement comes hours after the state Attorney General's Office reported another launched investigation into a police-involved shooting in Paterson. One civilian also died in the shooting, the office said.
