CHERRY HILL, NJ — The Woodcrest Country Club on Evesham Road in Cherry Hill is under new ownership. Lahn Real Estate owner and South Jersey native Randy Lahn and his wife, Patricia, have entered into an agreement with the First Montgomery Group to purchase the Woodcrest Country Club.

Lahn also owns The Funplex Amusement Centers in New Jersey and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Funplex Amusement Centers CEO Brian Williams is also a member of the new management team. Rounding out the ownership group is Patrick Lucas, the club’s current Director of Operations.

Lucas will remain with the club as part owner and operator at the course. With years of experience in the golf management business, Lucas served as First Assistant Superintendent at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, prior to being named Superintendent at Woodcrest in 1994, at the age of 24.

Woodcrest Country Club was founded in 1929, and sits on 178 acres of land. Woodcrest offers players impeccable conditions including, well-manicured fairways, slick greens and deep bunkers.

With magnificent views and beautiful landscaping, Woodcrest is a testament to the talent and expertise of golf-course-architect William S. Flynn.

It is currently a private club featuring an 18-hole championship course; “Bar 1929”, a restaurant offering members and the public lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch, and live music with a panoramic view of the 18th hole; a pool, ballrooms, and private meeting space. Woodcrest Country Club is the ideal venue for golfing, socializing and private events.

Lahn said he will maintain the club’s status as a private club while creating an exclusive retreat for the entire family. This will include a fitness center, spa, pickle ball, kids club, arcade room, and an indoor/outdoor pool.

The upgrades will begin early next year with course enhancements to three of the club’s 18 holes, Lahn said.

Lahn began his career in the amusement industry in 1991 with just a miniature golf course and driving range. Over time, he continued to become more passionate about bringing family entertainment to all.

The Funplex Amusement Centers is a full-scale amusement park featuring both indoor and outdoor rides and attractions, water parks, go karts, indoor and outdoor dining, events and more.
It has two locations in New Jersey locations and one that recently opened in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Lahn intends to apply the same family-friendly approach he employs to make the Funplex such an overwhelming success to Woodcrest Country Club.

Located minutes from Center City, Lahn would like to create a farther-reaching membership enjoyable to members outside the Cherry Hill area.

Woodcrest Country Club is located at 300 East Evesham Road in Cherry Hill. For more information about the club, events, dining, membership and more, visit www.woodcrestcountryclub.com.
