"Drivers should stay off the roads if possible, remain alert, and follow all safety protocols," Murphy said.

Cherry Hill's Department of Public Works began treating roadways over the weekend to prepare for the storm.

"Depending on the duration and amount of snowfall, township trucks may plow your street several times," the township said before the storm. "As snow rolls off our plows, it sometimes accumulates in driveway aprons. Please understand that this is unavoidable and it is the homeowner’s responsibility to clear it."

Cherry Hill's municipal offices are closed Monday, and trash and recycling pickup has been pushed to Tuesday.

The Township Council's re-organization meeting has also been rescheduled to Tuesday.

Cherry Hill Public School students already had the day off on Monday because of a teacher in-service day, which is now virtual because of the snowfall.

Portions of the New Jersey Turnpike have lowered their speed limits Monday morning as crews plow and salt the highway. Check 511NJ for roadway conditions.
