John Cleese, Sam Raimi Headed To Cherry Hill For Star-Studded Convention

Monster Mania-Con gives fans of horror and film the chance to meet some of their favorites.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Comedy mainstay John Cleese and director Sam Raimi are among the stars set to appear this weekend at Monster-Mania Con in Cherry Hill.

Monster-Mania Con, a biannual celebration of horror films and pop culture, runs from Friday through Sunday at DoubleTree By Hilton (2349 Marlton Pike W).

Cleese, 84, is perhaps best known for co-founding Monty Python, starring with the British comedy troupe in sketch show "Monty Python's Flying Circus" and films such as "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and "Life of Brian." He also wrote and starred in "A Fish Called Wanda," for which he was nominated for an Academy Award and Golden Globe.

Raimi directed the first three films of "Evil Dead" and the "Spider-Man" trilogy (2002-07).

Guests will also include "Chucky" voice actor Brad Dourif, longtime television actress Katey Sagal and more. Additionally, the event will feature photo-ops with stars from "Children of the Corn," "Halloween III" and other film favorites.

Monster-Mania Con lists guests as they're confirmed, but appearances are subject to cancelations due to professional commitments and other circumstances beyond their control.
