Leaf Collection Begins Week Of Oct. 24 In Cherry Hill

Residents may place leaves in an open biodegradable bag, or into an open trash can at curbside on their regular trash and recycling day.

CHERRY HILL, NJ —Now that leaves are changing and falling off trees, it's time to think about fall leaf collection in Cherry Hill.

The township's regularly-scheduled collection begins the week of October 24, and continues through mid-November. Signs will be placed around neighborhoods a week before leaf collection. And, weather permitting, the township will do a second collection this season.

Residents may place leaves in an open biodegradable bag, or into an open trash can at curbside on their regular trash and recycling day. The township reminds residents that plastic bags are not permitted.

Residents who want to dispose of their own leaves may go to the Kresson Road Ecology Site to do so. The Department of Public Works manages Ecology Site hours and can give permission to use the site.

The township has the following guidelines for leaf collection:

  • Cars must be removed from the street between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:30 pm
  • Do not rake your leaves until signs have been posted in your neighborhood
  • Landscape / lawn services must remove leaves from site and may use the Kresson Road Ecology Site at no cost; permits may be picked up at the Cherry Hill Department of Public Works
  • Leaves must be raked to the park strip area near the roadway. Do not place leaves in the street
  • Department of Environmental Protection regulations restrict leaves from being placed within 10 feet of any storm drains.
  • Leaf piles with branches or other debris mixed in will not be collected
  • Check the township website homepage "News" for weekly leaf collection updates
