The legendary rapper is going from the slums of Shaolin to the DoubleTree by Hilton Cherry Hill.

Update, 5 p.m. Wednesday: Monster-Mania Con announced Wednesday afternoon that they're on "standby" with Method Man as the rapper's representatives hash out details.

The convention deleted the original announcement of Method Man's scheduled appearance from its Facebook page but said they should be able to repost it soon. An update has not been shared as of this writing.

Method Man will appear this summer at Monster-Mania Con — a convention celebrating horror films, pop culture and general fandom.

Method Man is a founding member of Wu-Tang Clan who went on to have a successful solo career. In 1996, he and Mary J. Blige won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for their single, "I'll Be There For You/You're All I Need To Get By."

He is also half of the hip-hop duo Method Man & Redman, which released two albums and starred in the stoner film "How High."

Method Man has starred in several shows and movies, including recurring roles in "The Wire" and "Oz."

Monster-Mania Con gives attendees the chance to meet and take photos with different stars and familiar faces in TV and film — especially in the horror genre.

The convention will run from Aug. 15-17 at DoubleTree by Hilton Cherry Hill (2349 Marlton Pike W). Method Man is scheduled to attend the final two days.

More than a dozen stars have been announced for the upcoming Monster-Mania Con, including actor Luis Guzman.

In the past, the convention has drawn big names such as William Shatner and Henry Winkler, who appeared last year.
