Snow During Rush Hour Expected In Camden Co.

Crews are preparing ahead of the winter storm, which could make roadways slippery throughout the evening.

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — A winter storm could create hazardous conditions during Camden County's Friday evening commute, according to forecasters.

Snow is expected to fall throughout the evening — mainly after 5 p.m. and before 9 p.m. — according to Camden County officials.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 3-10 p.m. Friday. Drivers should prepare for slippery roads during that timeframe, especially on bridges and overpasses, says the National Weather Service.

Forecasters predict about an inch of snow overall, with temperatures dropping to the mid-20s.

Camden County's Public Works Department, along with local crews, have been preparing for the storm.

"Although we are not expecting a lot of snow, we always encourage residents to stay home if they do not have to be anywhere," said County Commissioner Al Dyer. "As our crews head out to treat the roads, remember to always leave at least six car lengths behind our vehicles while they work and move any cars off the street and into a driveway."

"Please also remember that it is illegal in New Jersey to plow or shovel snow from private property into roadways," Dyer continued.
