Rain Postpones Holiday Events In Camden Co.: Here's What's Still Happening

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Several holiday parades and events in Camden County have been postponed or canceled because of expected rain. But several more are set to take place.

The Parade of Lights in Collingswood and Haddon Township was postponed because of the forecast. The event was originally set for Friday evening but didn't have a rain date, since organizers didn't want to take away from similar "parade of lights" events around the region. Three other holiday events have been postponed. Winslow Township rescheduled its tree lighting from this Friday to Dec. 8. The event will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m., with Santa reaching the Winslow Township Municipal Building at 7 p.m.

Bellmawr pushed its Christmas Parade from Sunday to 5 p.m. Dec. 10.

The Pine Hill Christmas Parade, originally set for Sunday, will take place at 6 p.m. Dec. 10.

But if you're still looking for holiday gatherings this weekend, Camden County has several options. Patch compiled a list of local weekend events that haven't been canceled or rescheduled as of this article's publication.

The weather, however, can change quickly. So if you plan to attend any events, Patch recommends double-checking for any potential scheduling changes. Here are a few events set to take place this weekend around Camden County:

  • Tree Lighting at Berlin Township Municipal Hall: 7 p.m. Friday, Day Park Avenue (135 Route 73).
  • Christmas Tree Lighting in Brooklawn: 6 p.m. Saturday at Fireman's Circle.
  • Annual Holiday House at Barclay Farmstead (Cherry Hill): Friday through Sunday (see times here) at 209 Barclay Ln.
  • Annual Tree Lighting Holiday Event at Gloucester Premium Outlets: 6-8 p.m. Friday; 100 Premium Outlets Dr., Blackwood.
  • Blackwood Fire Company Christmas Parade: 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Downtown Blackwood.
  • Holiday Tree Lighting at Camden Waterfront: 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Aquarium Loop Drive, Camden.

  • Friday night: Cloudy. Rain, mainly in the evening. Not as cool. Near steady temperature in the mid-40s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.
  • Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the upper 50s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
  • Saturday night: Cloudy. A chance of showers in the evening, then showers likely after midnight. Near steady temperature in the lower 50s. Southwest winds around 5 mph, becoming northeast after midnight. Chance of rain 70 percent.
  • Sunday: A chance of showers in the morning, then showers likely in the afternoon. Highs in the mid-50s. East winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
  • Sunday night: Showers likely in the evening. Lows in the mid =-40s. Chance of rain 60 percent.
