West Football Gets 3rd Win, East Football Still Seaching
The Lions are off to the team's best start in a decade.

Trailing 14-13 in the fourth quarter, with a chance at a 3-1 start slipping away, Cherry Hill West got a Rodney Williams-to-Dwuan Allen touchdown and two-point conversion combo to beat Seneca, 21-14, in a rainy, windswept game Friday night.
The Lions took a 7-0 lead on Williams’ 84-yard punt return in the first quarter, and made it a 13-7 lead before halftime on Williams’ 2-yard pass to Chris Pascall.
That missed extra point ended up being significant—After Seneca’s Sam Pawlikowski scored his second touchdown of the night, Golden Eagles kicker Vaughn Butler made it a 14-13 game.

Undeterred, the Lions fought back to score their third win of the season, in the process notching the program’s best start in at least a decade and improving the team’s shot at West’s first-ever playoff berth.
West had dropped down to 8th in the power points standings, but with an early bye, the Lions are behind teams that had all already played four games this season, and will get a boost from beating Seneca.

The Lions next travel to Woodrow Wilson, which has had an up-and-down season—the Tigers beat Bishop Eustace in the season opener and kept things close with Camden Catholic in a 13-6 loss, but lost a blowout to Delsea, 41-0, this week.
That game is set for noon on Oct. 19.
Lenape 45, Cherry Hill East 0
The Cougars were held scoreless for the third straight game, as Lenape got two major performances from running backs Steven Anderson—141 yards and a touchdown—and Malcolm Anthony—92 yards and two scores—in the win.
