No Refunds, No Cancelations: Camden's XPoNential Music Fest To Play On Amid Coastal Storm

The weather may delay some performances. But when organizers say the 3-day festival is 'all-weather,' they mean it.

CAMDEN, NJ — One of South Jersey's biggest outdoor-music gatherings plans to proceed this weekend, even with a major coastal storm in the forecast. XPoNential Music Festival may face delays, but the no-refund policy still stands, even in the event of hazardous weather.

About two-dozen artists are slated to perform Friday through Sunday at the music festival in Camden's Wiggins Park. The event is run by Philadelphia radio station WXPN in partnership with the Camden County Board of Commissioners.

Numerous Greater Philadelphia events originally set for this weekend have been canceled or postponed because of a developing storm that could bring heavy rain, gusty winds and flooding into the area.

However, the XPoNential Music Festival is an "all-weather" event, and tickets aren't refundable or transferable, according to the festival's website. Even with heavy storms in the forecast, that policy still stands, a festival spokesperson told Patch.

"Ticket purchasers are made aware when tickets are purchased that there are no refunds," the spokesperson told Patch. "We expect to have performances throughout the weekend and, as we have done with many previous editions of our festival, will be prepared for the possibility of schedule delays."

For the general public, a one-day pass to the festival currently costs $60, with a three-day pass available for $216. Tickets are available for WXPN "members" who help fund the public radio station. View ticket info here.

The coastal storm appears "increasingly likely" to impact the region from Friday night into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The agency expects 1.5-2 inches of rain in the Camden area from late Friday night through Saturday night, with gusts peaking Saturday at about 30 mph.

Saturday — the most likely day for hazardous weather — is also the festival's busiest, with 10 acts set to perform that afternoon and evening.
