Alleged Bank Robbers to Face Fewer Charges

The pair were arrested in Maple Shade after the alleged robbery in Bensalem, PA.

A Cherry Hill woman and a Philadelphia man headed to trial for allegedly robbing a Bensalem, PA bank in August will face one less charge each as the case moves through Bucks County Court.

Joseph Coraluzzi, 32, of Philadelphia, and Deana Paulik, 24, of Cherry Hill, waived their preliminary hearings in district court this week for charges stemming from their alleged involvement in a robbery of Fulton Bank on Street Road in Bensalem, according to court records.

Coraluzzi, who had been charged with robbery of a financial institution, a felony offense, along with misdemeanor offenses of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and recklessly endangering another person, had the latter charge withdrawn on Tuesday, according to court records.

Paulik, Coraluzzi's alleged accomplice, who had been charged with robbery of a financial institution and conspiracy to rob a bank, both felony offenses, as well as misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking, had the latter charge withdrawn.

Maple Shade officers arrested Coraluzzi and Paulik, who was a passenger in the car, following a car stop in late August, authorities said, following the bank robbery, where a man in a black hooded sweatshirt and black shorts—later identified as Coraluzzi—walked into Fulton Bank, handed a teller a note demanding money and got away with an unspecified amount of cash.

Coraluzzi's note included the threat of a handgun, police said, but he never showed a weapon during the robbery.

Paulik remains free after posting 10 percent of $50,000 bail. Coraluzzi remains in jail in lieu of posting 10 percent of $1.5 million bail.

Both Paulik and Coraluzzi have formal arraignments scheduled for next month in Bucks County Court.
