BURLINGTON, NJ — South Jersey's first Asad's Hot Chicken will open Friday, the business says.

Asad's — arguably Philly's best-known spot for Nashville hot chicken — announced last month that it's expanding into Burlington. The business now has a grand-opening date and will offer free food from 3-10 p.m. Friday.

Founded by Philly native Asad Khan, Asad's has emerged as a popular hot chicken joint as the delicacy continues to take Greater Philadelphia by storm. With three locations, Asad's prides itself on having "Philadelphia's first hot chicken joint."

Menu items include Nashville-style hot chicken sliders, tenders, smoothies, and fries loaded with melted cheese, chopped chicken tenders, and Asad's sauce. The halal restaurant has also become a favorite of Philadelphia's Muslim community.

Asad's currently has two eateries in Philadelphia and one in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. The new location is on 240 Route 130, Burlington.
