Boom Partygoers May Lose Their Cars, Burlington Co., Philly Police Say

The parties that disturb some New Jersey neighborhoods are getting extra attention from police on both sides of the Delaware River.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — Boom partygoers who are seen attending these events may have their vehicles confiscated, Cinnaminson's Police Chief said.

Ending boom parties — the loud events hosted by various groups on the Philadelphia side of the Delaware River for the past several years that have been disrupting the lives of some people in New Jersey — has become a priority of the Cinnaminson Police Department, said Cinnaminson Police Department Police Chief Richard Calabrese.

The Cinnaminson and Philadelphia police departments held their latest meeting on Friday to discuss ways to meet Calabrese's objective.

Besides potentially having their vehicles confiscated, boom partygoers could also face charges, be issued citations or be arrested, Calabrese said on behalf of the Philadelphia Police Department.

"The township is committed to helping solve this ongoing problem," he told Patch. "We realize how detrimental sleep deprivation can be for our residents, especially how our school-aged children’s learning abilities could be potentially impacted by not getting the proper undisturbed sleep with the upcoming school year just a couple of weeks away."
