Burlington Men Charged In Daytime Shooting: Prosecutor

The July 18 shooting took place hours after the men were involved in a dispute, police said.

BURLINGTON, NJ - Two men from Burlington were charged in a daytime shooting last month on the streets of the city’s New Yorkshire neighborhood, authorities said.

Shaun M. Causey, 36, was charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and related charges. Joseph Morris, 33, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow point bullets and possession of a large-capacity ammunition machine, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and City of Burlington Police Chief John Fine said in a joint statement.

The shooting took place on July 18 just before 6 p.m. in the 200 block of Barclay Street, Bradshaw and Fine said. An investigation later found that Causey and Morris had been involved in a dispute earlier that day.
