CHS Prom Dress Organizer Says Thanks

After an inaugural sale of $10 dresses to make prom more affordable, Cinnaminson High School senior Jinhee Lee thanks her supporters.

Jinhee Lee set out to help fellow students attend their proms by offering a huge cost savings: $10 dresses donated from people around South Jersey. With the help of two teachers, she organized Lee wrote the following letter to thank everyone for their part:

I would first like to thank everyone for all their donations and support. None of this would of worked without everyone donating their dresses and racks and more. Laura Hyland, Mary Orphanos, and all my friends who came out the day of were phenomenal, also.

I was able to collect 167 dresses. Only 17 dresses sold, but that's 17 more girls that will be able to go to prom!

The dresses left over, we donated to The University of Penn's School of Social Policy and Practice Prom Drive with Haddonfield United Methodist Church.

We did take the nicer dresses and are selling them in our student store for girls who were not able to come out to the event.

Shawnee High School donated 20 dresses, Cherry Hill East gave five, and that left Cinnaminson with 142 dresses! Cinnaminson's Prom Committee collected the $170 dollars for this years prom. Jan's Boutique also donated three brand new, beautiful dresses.

Overall, everything went very well. I didn't think I would even be able to collect 50 dresses. Everyone's support and help is very appreciated and I hope the students and teachers will be able to keep this going next year!

A special thanks to Mary Orphanos, Laurie Hyland and Darlene Llewellyn. They were a great help and very supportive. Also, thanks to Kris Cole Salon, Strands Salon, and Jan's Boutique for all their contributions.
