Cinnaminson Schools Collect Holiday Treats For Troops Overseas

​ The Cinnaminson Public School District is teaming up with Operation Yellow Ribbon to help bring holiday cheer to troops deployed overseas.

Now through Nov. 22, families are asked to bring in items to be boxed by Operation Yellow Ribbon volunteers and shipped overseas for service members who are deployed in other countries.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — The Cinnaminson Public School District is teaming up with Operation Yellow Ribbon to help bring holiday cheer to troops deployed overseas, the district said in a social media post.

Now through Nov. 22, families are asked to bring in items to be boxed by Operation Yellow Ribbon volunteers and shipped overseas for service members who are deployed in other countries. Items that will be collected include:

  • Candy canes
  • Cans of ground coffee
  • Boxes of tea bags
  • Hot chocolate
  • Holiday themed tins of cookies
  • Holiday themed chocolates
  • Holiday themed candy
  • Hanukkah gelt (chocolate gold coins)
  • Dreidles
  • Hanukkah candles
  • Little Debbie holiday cakes/snacks
  • Hostess holiday cakes/snacks
  • Royal Dansk cookie tins (butter cookies)
  • Store bought cookies, such as Oreos, Nabisco, Chips Ahoy, Keebler, Mallomars, Lorna Doone, Archway, etc.
  • Kellog’s Rice Krispie Treats
  • Gingerbread house kits

  • High school: Room E271
  • Middle School: Main entrance lobby or the art room
  • Eleanor Rush Intermediate School: Main entrance lobby
  • New Albany Elementary School: Main entrance lobby

Operation Yellow Ribbon is a New Jersey-based non-profit organization that supports the United States Military Forces serving in the Middle East, including Iraq, Afghanistan and those supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve.

So far in 2021, Operation Yellow Ribbon has delivered 38,826 pounds of goodies and 1,181 huge care packages to U.S. troops serving overseas.
