Drugs Found on Palmyra Man Near School: Police

Palmyra Police say he tried to get rid of several baggies of marijuana while they were conducting an investigation.

A Palmyra man was arrested after he was caught with several baggies of marijuana near the Delaware Avenue School Sunday, according to police.

Palmyra Police responded to a reported domestic disturbance on Delaware Avenue around 9 p.m. As police were conducting their investigation, the officers observed a man—later identified as Cornelius L. Rose, 33—who was trying to avoid speaking with them. Rose was attempting to walk away and ignored the officers’ instructions to keep his hands out of his pockets, police said.

As they were patting Rose down for weapons, the officers noticed three baggies of suspected marijuana at his feet, according to a report. A further investigation revealed Rose had allegedly tried to get rid of six other baggies of suspected marijuana.
