Farmer Killed In Machinery Accident At Well-Known South Jersey Farm

The man is part of the family who has owned and operated the farm since the 18th century.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — A farmer died in a machinery accident Sunday morning at Hunter's Farm in Cinnaminson, police said.

Police identified John Howard Hunter, 77, as the man killed.

First responders were dispatched to the farm around 10:15 a.m. and found that Hunter sustained deadly injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details about the incident won't be released at this time, police said Sunday.

Hunter's Farm was founded in 1760, when William Hunter emigrated from Ireland and purchased 1,000 acres of land. The family continues to operate the farm while operating a seasonal farmers market.

John Howard Hunter was a seventh-generation farmer in the family, according to a Facebook post by Hunter's Farm Market from last year.

The farm is located at 1101 Union Landing Rd.
