Man Killed In Police Shooting Outside NJ Home: Authorities
A South Jersey man was killed in a police-involved shooting outside his home in Millville Tuesday night, according to the Attorney General.
MILLVILLE, NJ — A man was killed in a police-involved shooting outside his home in South Jersey Tuesday night, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
Police were responding to an emergency at the home on Burns Road in Millville just before 9:30 p.m. when they came across the man outside the home, authorities said.
During the encounter, an officer fatally shot the man, who was not identified by authorities. No details were provided about what led to the shooting.

Officers and emergency medical personnel gave the man first aid, authorities said. He was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 10:56 p.m., according to authorities.
The Attorney General’s Office is conducting the investigation under a statute that requires it to investigate any death that occurs during an encounter with a law enforcement officer acting in the officer’s official capacity or while the decedent is in custody, and which establishes clear standards and procedures for conducting such investigations.
