Man Released On Aggravated Assault Charge Sought Again By Riverside Police

RIVERSIDE, NJ — A Roebling man wanted on an aggravated assault in a domestic violence case is back on the street, released by a judge before police could charge him in connection with a stolen handgun and armor-piercing bullets found in his vehicle after his arrest, Riverside police said.

David C. Vann, 27, was arrested by Riverside Police on Aug. 26 on the domestic violence aggravated assault charge filed by Delanco Police and turned over to the Delanco Police, according to law enforcement officials.

"He was lodged in Burlington County Jail pending a detention hearing and he was released by a Superior Court judge the following day," Lieutenant Ron K. Brock of the Riverside Police Department told Patch.

On Sept. 6, Riverside Police searched a vehicle Vann had previously occupied, according to Brock.

The search yielded a stolen handgun, armor-piercing bullets and "a distribution-size quantity of marijuana, numerous types of pills categorized as controlled dangerous substances" along with a large amount of cash, law enforcement officials said.

Riverside Police could not locate Vann when they tried to arrest him on multiple second- and third-degree charges that stemmed from the search and put a warrant out for his arrest, according to law enforcement officials.

Vann was described as a Black man who stands 6 feet and 11 inches tall, weighs about 200 to 220 pounds and wears a beard and gauge earrings.
