Fire Damages Apartment At Senior Housing Complex In Cinnaminson

A few surrounding apartment sustained water damage, but the impacted residents were cleared to return home that night, officials told Patch.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — An apartment was damaged in a fire Wednesday at a senior housing complex in Cinnaminson, officials told Patch.

The fire emerged at 2:52 p.m. in a second-floor bedroom at the Rolling Greens Court apartment building at 1410 Riverton Rd.

Firefighters reached the scene a few minutes later and suppressed it by 3:10 p.m., containing it to that apartment, said Cinnaminson Fire Chief Philip Drangula.

There were no injuries.

Three other units sustained water damage, but the residents were cleared to return to their apartments that night, Drangula told Patch.

There was a "small bit of fire" inside the bedroom where it originated, Drangula said. But the building's sprinklers helped prevent it from spreading further.

"The sprinkler system did exactly what it's supposed to," Drangula said. "It was able to keep that fire in check in that room."

Firefighters collaborated with staff and property management to retrieve medications and personal items from impacted residents' homes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
