Sex Crime Sends Burlington Co. Man To PA Prison, Officials Say

NORRISTOWN, PA — A man from Burlington County was sentenced to spend 5-and-a-half to 11 years in a Pennsylvania prison for sexually assaulting a sleeping woman, court records show.

Michael T. McLoughlin, 45, of Riverton, will also have to comply with lifetime registration requirements under Megan's Law for convicted sex offenders, undergo a sexual offender
evaluation and comply with treatment recommendations, have no further contact with the victim and serve three years of probation after he is released from prison, according to court records.

He was found guilty earlier this year on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of an unconscious person, aggravated indecent assault and sexual assault, court records show.

The investigation into McLoughlin began when a woman in Telford said the Riverton man had sexually assaulted her in the fall of 2019, according to a previously published report in the Pottstown Mercury.

He was a friend of the victim's roommate, an earlier report also said.
