CINNAMINSON, NJ — Cinnaminson Township Committee took another step toward bringing Chick-fil-A to the township Monday night.

Township Committee gave final approval to a proposed ordinance to adopt a redevelopment plan for a parcel of land on Route 130 South when it met Monday night at the municipal building.

The land it voted on was deemed an area in need of redevelopment in 2013, officials said. The designation eases zoning restrictions to encourage development in the area.

Based on Delco’s interest, the redevelopment plan went before the Township Committee. The adoption of the plan paves the way for Delco’s planned development of a Chick-fil-A restaurant, accompanying retail uses and infrastructure improvements.

“There exists much excitement throughout the community about the prospect of bringing a popular restaurant franchise to Cinnaminson which will further enhance our Route 130 business corridor,” Township Manager Eric Schubiger said.

The fast food chain would set up shop down the street from Lidl. Founded in 1946 as the Dwarf Grill and headquartered just outside Atlanta, Georgia, Chick-fil-A has nearly 2,000 locations across the United States.

In addition to Chick-fil-A and Lidl, Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen and Tim Horner's Coffee and Bake Shop have received approval from the Cinnaminson Planning Board to move into the former Triboro Motors Site at Route 130 South and Taylor's Lane.
