Renowned BBQ Joint To Open Burlington Co. Restaurant Next Week
1911 Smoke House Barbecue has been a Trenton favorite and recently made headlines thanks to a meme-worthy post from columnist David Brooks.

WILLINGBORO, NJ — A renowned barbecue business plans to open its new Burlington County location next week.
1911 Smoke House Barbeque will welcome guests to the Willingboro restaurant next Tuesday.
Currently, 1911 Smoke House has locations in Trenton and Newark Liberty International Airport. As the state capital's premier barbecue joint, the eatery touts flavorful smoked meats, locally sourced ingredients and sides that "will melt in your mouth."

The Newark location recently made headlines after New York Times columnist David Brooks complained on social media about the price of his airport meal. The September post became a source of memes and mockery (largely at the writer's expense) for users on X — the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Brooks shared a photo with a burger, fries and at least two beverages on the table and wrote the following: "This meal just cost me $78 at Newark Airport. This is why Americans think the economy is terrible."

Many X users quickly noted what appeared to be liquor in the photo, which likely drove up the price. 1911 Smoke House later said that the bar tab accounted for nearly 80 percent of his bill.
During the viral moment, 1911 had some fun and promoted a "D Brooks Special" — a burger, fries and double shot of whiskey for $17.78, not $78 — at the airport restaurant.
1911 Smoke House's new restaurant will be in the Willingboro Town Center shopping plaza at 4376 Route 130, Unit 4638, Willingboro. For the first few weeks, it will operate from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
The Willingboro location won't have its liquor license for several weeks. So in the early going, the restaurant will be dry, with no BYOB either.
