He was 82. Clark reportedly suffered a heart attack Wednesday, a day after undergoing an outpatient procedure at a Los Angeles area hospital. Clark had strong area connections, having hosted the popular show American Bandstand in Philadelphia from 1952 until it moved to Hollywood in 1964. He owned a home in Drexel Hill, Delaware County, PA. In 2004, Clark suffered a stroke and was forced to retire from New Year's Rockin' Eve, an ABC show he created and hosted since 1972.
