Retro-Themed Burger Joint In Cinnaminson Nears Opening

CINNAMINSON, NJ — Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers expects to open soon in Cinnaminson.

The retro-themed burger joint is projected to open Nov. 19, a company spokesperson told Patch on Wednesday. But Freddy's hasn't formally announced an opening date as of this writing, so that date could change.

Freddy's has hundreds of locations around the nation. Last year, Cinnaminson officials approved the restaurant for Route 130 at the site of the former Acme supermarket, which closed in 2011.

Freddy Simon, the business's namesake, served in World War II before returning to Wichita, Kansas, and working in the hospitality industry for 56 years. Two of his sons were among the founders of the company, which launched in 2002 in Wichita.

Every burger is made "The Freddy's Way," with each patty pressed thin to create crispy edges and finished with Freddy's Famous Steakburger and Fry Seasoning. The menu also includes hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and frozen treats.

Freddy's opened in Burlington earlier this year, marking the chain's first South Jersey restaurant.

Freddy's in Cinnaminson will be located at 1107 Route 130 S.
