School Board Vacancy In Cinnaminson After Long-Time Member Resigns
The Cinnaminson Township Board of Education accepted the resignation of member James J. McGuckin, Jr., during its meeting last week.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — The Cinnaminson Township Board of Education said it accepted "with regret" the immediate resignation of board member James J. McGuckin, Jr.
McGuckin was a board of education member for 20 years before his resignation was announced at the Aug. 30 meeting of the board.
"He's been a great service to this district and was here long before I was," Cinnaminson Township Public Schools Superintendent Stephen Cappello told Patch after the meeting. "It was just [his] time."

The person who fills McGuckin's seat will serve until Dec. 31, 2023, according to Cappello.
Those interested in filling the vacancy should send a letter of intent to Board of Education Secretary Melissa Livengood at livengoodm@cinnaminson.com by 4:00 p.m. Sept. 14, the school district said.
