Tommy's Tavern + Tap Plans South Jersey Location Opening

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — Popular restaurant chain Tommy's Tavern + Tap is set to make its South Jersey debut, according to Mount Laurel officials.

The restaurant is set to take over the former TGI Friday’s building located in the Centerton Square shopping complex, the township said in an April Facebook post. An opening date has yet to be announced.

Tommy's Tavern + Tap, which mixes modern upscale ambiance with sports bar details, offers pizzas, soups, salads, sushi, flatbreads and more, township officials said.

“To start try the spinach and artichoke dip or jumbo salted pretzel,” the announcement post reads. “Entrée choices range from crispy chicken sandwiches and juicy burgers to flavorful salad combos like the sesame crusted ahi tuna salad. Coal fire pizzas are a customer favorite and feature the freshest tomatoes, cheese, and a variety of toppings. For the adventurous type, try Tommy’s sushi creations and poke bowls, which feature sushi rice, seaweed salad and crunchy onions.”

Founded by the chain’s namesake Thomas Bonfiglio, the restaurant aims to bring something to the table for everyone, Bonfiglio previously told Patch.

"You can literally walk in there on a date, for a post-work happy hour, a family dinner with all kids in tow, a girls night out with the pickiest eater you know and see that each person in the group can find at least ten items or more on the menu that would suit their interests,” Bonfiglio said.

Bonfiglio is also behind Tio Taco + Tequila Bar, a Mexican-inspired chain with locations in Clifton, Edison and Marlboro.

Can’t wait to try Tommy’s Tavern + Tap? The chain already touts sites in Sea Bright, Freehold, Clifton, Bridgewater, Edison and Morris Plains. Two other locations can be found in Staten Island and Newark, Delaware.
