3 Charged With Murder In Burlington Co. After Shooting Of Man In Pickup Truck: Prosecutor

The victim was shot while sitting in a parked vehicle last month, authorities said.

WILLINGBORO, NJ — Three suspects have been charged with murder after a man was shot while sitting in a parked vehicle last month in Willingboro, authorities said Tuesday.

The victim — Bruce Hall Jr., 43, of Trenton — was shot while sitting in a parked pickup truck the night of Aug. 10, officials said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at Paddock Lane and Poppy Turn.

Two days later, three men were charged with first-degree murder: Elijah B. Ervin, 33, Shaheed L. Ervin, 39, and Earl T. Johnson, 29. They are all Willingboro residents.

Elijah Ervin was arrested that day, and Shaheed Ervin was arrested August 26. During pretrial detention hearings, a judge ordered that they remain in custody at the Burlington County Jail during criminal proceedings.

Earl Johnson was arrested Sept. 17 at a home in Philadelphia and placed in the city's Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility. The state will move to extradite him to New Jersey.

The suspects were also charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder and several second-degree weapons offenses.

Shaheed Ervin's lawyer, pool attorney Jill R. Cohen, declined comment at this juncture.

Attorney information for Johnson and Elijah Ervin wasn't immediately available.
