Woman, 74, Killed In Burlington County House Fire: Police

A 74-year-old woman was killed in a fire at a Burlington County home Thursday evening, according to Medford Township police.

MEDFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 74-year-old woman was killed in a fire at a Burlington County home Thursday evening, according to police.

The fire broke out at about 5:45 p.m. at a home on the 100 block of Taunton Drive in Medford, according to township police.

Initial reports indicated that the front of the house was on fire, and that people may be trapped inside, according to Medford police.

When emergency responders arrived, they found fire coming from the first and second floor windows, police said. The woman was found deceased on the second floor, police said.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The identity of the deceased woman was not released.

The fire is being investigated by the Medford Township Police and Fire Departments and the
Burlington County Fire Marshall's Office

Mutual aid departments from Evesham Fire-Rescue, Medford Lakes, Berlin Township and Cherry Hill helped put the fire out, police said.
