MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ — The Union County community is holding a free fishing derby on Saturday, Sept. 13, supporting those with special needs and disabilities.

Families and friends are also invited to participate from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Echo Lark Park in Mountainside. Those joining in are encouraged to bring their own chairs, poles and gear. Some equipment will also be available at the event.

“Fishing on the lake with your loved ones is a great way to bask in the sunshine and enjoy the outdoors before summer comes to a close,” says County Commissioner Chairwoman Lourdes M. Leon. "Whether you are new to fishing or a seasoned angler, all are welcome to join us at Echo Lake."
