The Gateway Family YMCA celebrated arts and engagement activities at The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch, 1564 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ with specialized arts programming designed for senior citizens throughout the year.

Arts and Crafts Experiences for Seniors (ACES) is designed to combat social isolation among older adults by offering seasonal arts experiences that nurture creativity, connection, and well-being. By working together on visual arts projects, participants benefit from both the proven health impacts of artistic engagement and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with others in their community.

Five programs throughout the year included 60 senior and 30 youth participants. This program is made possible in part by a 2025 HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of County Commissioners.
